I just installed Cakewalk and am using it for the first time, so this is a newbie question.  The problem I'm having is that the Square I synth keeps changing its volume level.  I have it in a soft synth track, and have made some changes to several of the knobs.  I have also recorded a few bars of notes for it.  During playback, the volume sometimes jumps down to a very quiet level, then back up again.  At this point it seems like the volume changes happen at random times.

Anyone have any ideas how to fix the problem?

I'm running windows 8 64 bit, and I chose a 64 bit installation for the Cakewalk software.

Thanks!

Do you have "reset controllers on stop" selected in the MIDI options? I had a similar problem until someone pointed out that I probably had this set. Also check to see that you don't have any automation lanes that are changing parameters on playback.

do you have an lfo or envelope connected to the volume levels?

Thanks Sharke! I think that might have fixed the problem.  I was able to play back my recording a few times in a row without issue after changing that setting.

Not that I know of!  I didn't put in anything like that on purpose.  But I'm so new to the software that I can't say for sure.  Especially since I started with one of the sample projects...

Thanks!
