can't believe that it is only me having this issue here. strange... love the new x2 but all of the sudden it won't let me drag the browser f/x chains for vocals, or the pro-channel chains from the file view (far right) across to the f/x bin (far left). can't seem to find what got toggled, or is it possible this is a glitch in the pro-channel f/x file view? i enjoy the way i could use sonar as if it were reaper in this way, really missing the drag option. long time listener first time.... running asus i5 8 gig win 7 64 bit delta 1010/delta & 1010lt- 16 inputs-sonar x2/soundforge/cd arch

Are you trying to insert PC modules into the FX bin?

Yeah you definitely cannot drag anything with Pro Channel modules into a regular Fx bin - they don't work like that.

The other way round works - any vst can be inserted into the the Fx bin and/or the Pro Channel

No problems doing it here. No problems dragging effects chains from my right browswer to the left into PC. Anything that I insert into the PC custom effects bin can be either drug over to a track or ctrl copied to a track. You CANNOT use any pro channel modules outside of pro channel. Meaning, the eq, compressors, gate, Breverb etc. Anything that shows up as a PC effect, must remain in PC and can't be moved.

If you are using other effects like Sonitus, Waves or anything else in your custom effects bin in PC, THEY can be put on any audio track if they are inserted in PC.

So, make sure you are dragging from the FX tab of the Browser (press B to open and close the browser). There are multiple tabs. One is for browsing loops and things, one for FX and one for Synths. You can find your FX in the loops tab, but you can't drag them from there to the FX bin. You can only drag them from the FX tab to the FX bin. HTH

THANKX GUYS. that makes sense now. the only weird thing is x2 let me drag those great f/x into my regular vocal tracks 3 times. making em sound great! right out of the box. i used one that said big#2. but then again i was running 96-24, but switched down to 48-24 for this part of the project. going to switch back and see if it lets me input into other than the pro channels this morning.i ll also make sure it's the fx tab and press b. thankx again guys really appreciate how useful this board is. lets keep it going... cheers mike

ok thankx again guys, that session went great, and it was like ya said i was dragging from the wrong file. i am very appreciative of this forum as i never want to stop using cakewalk, and i love my pc just fine mac people.lol
