  • X2 Groove Loop Query. Bug perhaps?

Hi all.
Just updated to X2. All good though I have one initial question.

I notice that the "Clip/Loop On/Off" is off by default in the Loop Construction view and needs to be re-checked every time I create a groove loop. Is this just me, is there perhaps an over-ride I dont know of, is it a bug and if not, why would this be so?? It makes no sense to me.
Pleased to wave goodbye to all-notes-highlighted in PRV and delighted to see automation lanes albeit a decade or so late.
Now we need the same for tempo!
Thanks
David

It doesn't make much sense to me either, but it looks like it has some connection to some distinction between loops that are really groove clip loops in the Sonar sense, and those that not.  Groove clips do open in Loop Construction View with the Loop set to "on", but other loops don't.   For example, if you drag a 3rd-party Acidized loop to a track , then open the LCV, the Loop will be set to "Off".  But if you apply "Groove-Clip Looping" to it before you open LCV, then it will be set to "On".  I'm not sure what the difference in the actual material of the clip is, if any.

I don't think I've seen any option anywhere that automatically turns all loops of any sort into "official" Groove Clips when you bring them into a project.  That could be a feature request, I guess, but it wouldn't surprise me if there were some obscure copyright or patent reasons that prevent it from happening.

Thanks for the response WR. Anyone else able to shed any light on this? David
