Hi all.

I'm new to X1 and I'm having trouble deciding on how to lay out the new Tool Bar.  I did a search and read everything I could and the jest was to 'live with it' or learn to use shortcuts.  Now that X1 has been out a while, what's the consensus on laying out the Tool Bar?

In my S8 layout I had access to most everything that's in the new Tool Bar but obviously, now I can't see it all.  Is there a 'screen resolution' setting that would fix this?

Thanks.

You might be able to do it with multiple monitors, but even on a single monitor at 1920 x 1080, you still can't see the entire Control Bar. So you basically need to decide which modules you use the most.

Thanks Scott.  I just posted this over at your forum as well.

Yeah, I have two monitors.  It appears that I either stretch the main window across both monitors or I have to float the Tool Bar.  I don't like either option.  I guess I'll have to learn to work around it.  Drat!

I'm going to go back and look at as many videos as I can to try and ascertain what other folks are doing.

At 1920 x 1080 and higher you can get all but 3 of the modules. It's a built in limitation some would like to see changed.

There's about 3 I never use so I can live with. But an option to see ALL would be nice for those who do use them all... and if they ever add more modules.

So is there no monitor on the market that can fit it all?

Cakewalk designed the Control Bar to show all but 3 modules at once. If your screen resolution was 1000000000000100 wide you would still not be able to show them all.

2560 X 1440.

I am guessing FBB will be on here soon suggesting screensets as a solution???? I am not actually sure if it is possible, I have not really used X1 and I am still finding my way around X2 but I suspect you could have different screen sets with different tool bar configurations for different tasks.

Incidentally as one who prefers to use a mouse I am finding X2 easier than X1, I am not sure why.

I have a dual monitor system, (pair of 22" widescreens).  As mentioned above, I was able to get all but three modules by using 1920 X 1080 res.  I guess I'll have to learn to use it that way.  I'm pretty sure I read where screen sets will not save a modified control Bar.  Someone care to verify this?  Thanks.
