That's right.

Sort of.

Control Bar configurations are set totally independently of Screensets

No, the Control Bar is global. It's not affected by Screensets, although that would be a nice option.

It would also be nice to create multiple toolbars again (like in the past). Break apart the Control Bar and make our own. At the very least, be able to detach and float each of the modules.

Hopefully, we'll get more customization in a future version.

Anyone know what monitor rez would give me the most view of the control bar?
2560 X 1440.

I am guessing FBB will be on here soon suggesting screensets as a solution???? I am not actually sure if it is possible, I have not really used X1 and I am still finding my way around X2 but I suspect you could have different screen sets with different tool bar configurations for different tasks.

Incidentally as one who prefers to use a mouse I am finding X2 easier than X1, I am not sure why.

No not this time. As Colin has posted, Control Bar is one of the few things independant of screensets, something I'd personally like to see changed but that's me.

I use multiple monitors and two side by side at 1920 x 1080 shows them all with room to spare but I appreciate not everyone likes to run monitors like that.

Control Bar customisation is one thing I'd like to see, I think it was John T who suggested in another thread that being able to collapse them, similar to how we can the PC modules would be good, and I think that's a great idea. As long as we stay away from those titchy earlier version icons, I'll be happy.

YMMV of course.

To coin a phrase - abso-smegging-lutely!!

I still can't believe how people STILL prefer that sort of look for the GUI over what was introduced in X1

...quite easy to believe, instead..... as the new Control Bar, compared to the old Toolbars, is often useless...............

...the sense of "offscreen" modules, instead, that's something pretty hard to accept..........

....yep.... that's something so basic....

...If only Cakewalk understood it should have already been implemented in X2, after complaints about X1's non-feature.........

...let's keep hoping for something to happen, soon.........

Agreed.  Hard to think that was thought out design.  Lets make sure 3 modules will never be seen.  ???  Worries me.  And lets take out colours (and leave the broken options there...  and remove indents for folders...  and hide "auto cross fade" indicator...

Versions going by and not much being addressed.  Maybe I'm loosing touch or the new direction has plans for peeps other then me.  ;<

Hanging in there...  (but getting all "hoped out" as each new version appears)

I know I've complained about this since day 1 of x1's release. They had such a versatile, customizable toolbar system. It's been very hard for me to feel very pleased about it.

But honestly? I've overcome most of the need with a little convenience addition from duck bar and learning/using shortcuts more... I also find I can see the tools most important to me...

this appears to be a dead horse,... but,....

The replacement of 1 click buttons with the command/ribbon groups was just plain STUPID.

The removal of complete customization in favor of a semi-useful command/ribbon non-changeble pile of goups was just plain STUPID.

This is just one of the results of the mental virus infection known as "De-cluttering" that swept through, and seems to still reside on, the CW premises.

One man's "clutter" is another man's perfectly memorized properly located arrangment of tools and supplies.

But, don't get me started.

...totally agree.....

...just like others I've been fighting for this since X1 popped up; have done it for months, indeed... until tired.....

...as it came clear that Cakewalk have taken a different direction, due to the ridiculous "anti-clutter Hysteria", as I think you already called it in another post, if I recall well.... ;-)

...anyway, being the new Control Bar such a stupid static tool, and to some extent unusable, this CAN'T be a "dead Horse".....

...just to have the new enthusiasts rest assured, it doesn't have to be like the old "little" Tool Bars,  it's not about going to the past...

It's about having the new Control Bar improved as to get it CUSTOMIZABLE... and usable for ALL specific tasks and needs...

THAT  is STILL urgent serious fixing/improvements needed....

regards to all mates.
