Stop monkeying around and go 64 bit ;)

ahahahahaha... I already am in 64... I was just speculating...

I personally want 32 bit operation in 64 bit Win 7 And Sonar so I can use the Fantom VS Synth which is 32 bit and works via bitbridge in 64 bit Sonar and Win 7. Quite frankly, it operates like a quick fix patch. Most anything you want to use that is 32 bit should work with bit-bridge. That is the theory. At this point it's a try and see if it works scenario. It's really going to depend on what you're doing and whether you actually need all those extended resources. If you can't get what you want out of 64 bit and don't really need it, use 32 bit.
I really use the Fantom VS Synth for composing so having it work is important to me. But you may assess your needs to be different.

me in a whine-y voice: if I load a new 64-bit system then I'll have to spend hours reloading ALL of my programs, VSTs, licenses, etc.  WHAT A PAIN!

seems like not long ago I upgraded from XP to Win 7 and reloaded everything.  Now I have to worry about what will not work with 64 bit.

AND win 7 or 8?????

Yes it is a pain.  It can be pretty tedious depending how many plug-ins you also want to upgrade to 64bit (in addition to Sonar).  But you might as well do it and be done with it.  Bite the bullet.  64bit will carry you years into the future.  Lets face it, you're going to be doing it someday.  You're going to want the option of loading larger libraries that really need 64bit.  You might as well figure out which plug-ins are going to work and which won't.  Otherwise you'll be investing time in those that you will eventually leave behind, and that time will go to waste.

Hey Alex... I was reading your signature and just realized that you had something that was very large but, now, it no longer exists, since you removed it... Is that correct? (ehehehe) (just kiding)
