I started a previous thread when I was unable to use EZdrummer in a new project. It seems that it is much worse than that. I am unable to do anything in a new project - use any synths, record any audio, even playback an imported audio or MIDI track. All I get is a 'machine gun' like sound if I hit play, record or even turn on the input echo. I have to hit the Audio/MIDI reset button to stop it. Oddly enough, If I open a project that was previously created, everything works as normal - as far as I can tell. I can playback normally, record normally, add synths, add both MIDI and Audio tracks. I am using Windows 7 with a core i7 processor, 6 GB RAM. The audio and MIDI interface is an AKAI EIE pro. Anybody have any ideas?

I assume you're suggesting to update the driver. Unfortunately, no difference. If you meant something different than that let me know. Thanks.

Sounds like your system doesn't like something in the new X2 template files. I suggest you make a copy of one of your working projects, clear all the tracks and plug-ins from it, and save that as a template for new projects.
