I run it on all my PCs and laptops with great success. And I don't care that some say Win7 doesn't need a Reg Cleaner - it does.

While I wouldn't necessarily tell anyone to not use AV software or Reg Cleaners, I would say monitor things closely. Seriously, make a backup before using utilities like this.

We had to contact this company directly because they were removing Registry Keys SONAR needs to run. I've been told they resolved the issue (they were quite helpful), however this impacted countless users.

All I'm saying, is make a backup before running anything that touches your registry.

Ryan, thanks for the input. Is it fair to say that a "dirty registry" can cause issues in any DAW? In my experience ASC does make a PC run smoother.

I'd like to know exactly how a "dirty registry" can cause problems. It's not as if Sonar would be accessing old keys that shouldn't be there is it? 

I don't know the exact workings of it, but there are many programs out there that mop up what Windows leaves behind - it's a well-known topic. Whenever my system feels sluggish or starts crashing, I run ASC and things improve. I am not a programmer, just a consumer. Since the free version has no expiry date on it, I don't think it's a scam to "get your money" etc. Seems to work is all I can say.

I understand what they do, I'm just having trouble understanding how "things that Windows leaves behind" can affect other programs. It's not as if they trip over it in the registry while they're trying to get to other stuff 

I'm using C-Cleaner and have been for years without issue. I find junk in the registry, old install files and bulging cache's really gum up the works. If I keep the system clean everything runs better.

ccleaner is the only 1 I trust, solely because in years of using it .. it targets what it should. Other things , have a nice front end, and target the wrong thing.

e.g. orphaned rego entries and *NOT* for example zero byte files / rego entries some companies use for copy protection.

it's one of them products that I'd be surprised if anyone messed up their machine and yep it asks to do a backup for the rego functions.
