Hi folks hope you are all well.  I'm thinking of upgrading to sonar X2 Studio from Cakewalk Home Studio 7XL. A couple of questions if I may.  The first is regarding computer specs. I note the hardware requirements are:  Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.67 GHz / AMD Phenom Quad Core 9750 2.4 Ghz or higher 2GB of RAM  I'm pretty close. I have a Core 2 Duo E6600 running at 2.4 GHz with 4GB RAM. Am I likely to experience running problems?  The second question is a bit more fundamental. What benefits can I expect from making the upgrade?  Thanks guys appreciate your help.  Yellowcake

There is now a free demo available for download from the cake website I believe. Best you donwload it, install it on your system and see how it runs and if you like it. This way, you'll know for sure..

Hmm. Being so borderline on the hardware, you might indeed run into a few problems. Maybe not exactly showstoppers - you might for instance have to start freezing synths etc.

I notice you're also running Windows 7 in 32 bit mode - this automatically means you won't be able to make use of the full 4Gb of RAM you have installed, it will be restricted to a little over 3Gb, so that's another performance hit.

But, do as Vinny has suggested - download & install the trial version and see how you get on.
You'll be much better placed to make an informed decision.
