Just wondering if anyone else has run into this problem or might know an answer. I am using Sonar X1 at the moment. When I open a project that I am going to work on, many times, I can't get the instrument's main page to open when I click on it in the rack. If I am using GPO4 with Aria, I will have it installed in the rack inside the browser; then when i double click on the instrument to open the main page to install a new instrument, it won't open. This happens on many of the projects that I have saved over the last few months, but not every time. Very frustrating when I can't load a new instrument into the player. Anyone have any ideas? I have tried searching the forums, but I don't even know exactly what to search for. Anyway, thanks for any help you may be able to offer.

Did you perhaps freeze any of your GPO tracks?

might be windows forgetting where those windows are. try changing your screen resolution (to anything else)for just a sec then immediately revert. see the windows now?

Thank you for your responses.  I appreciate it.

None of my tracks are frozen.  I checked that.  In fact, I created a new project and put in dimension pro 64.  It installed and then immediately opened the interface.  i could chose my instrument, which I did.  Then I installed Sessions drummer 64.  The interface installed, but did not open.  so I clicked on SD in the isntrument rack, but it still does not open.  Also, now, dimension pro interface won't open either.   Nothing has changed in my setup at since to make this start to happen.  Not sure what is going on.  I have tried closing out Sonar and restarting but the same thing happens.

Might be a bug - write it up and submit it.

Maybe try minimising various parts of the Sonar interface eg ytack view) & see if the VSTs are opening behind those windows.

If that's what is happening try updating or reinstalling video drivers.

IIRC there was a similar problem some years ago with a particular video card chipset & driver combination

Dave - you've mentioned the same thing twice now & I just want to clarify something - you need to DOUBLE click the synth in the synth rack to open the Property Page.

Apologies if you're already doing this but it isn't clear from your posts.

Okay...thanks to all of you for all of your suggestions.  Color me stupid.  Can't believe I hassled with this for so long and the solutions turns out to be oh so easy.

I have a dual monitor system, and I didn't have the second monitor turned on.  Turns out they were opening on the other monitor.   *Face Palm*

Occam's Razor rears its head again.   Thanks again for all your help.  I am now ready for any of the "ribbing" you wish to dish out.

Do you realize that you had the very best minds on this forum pulling their hair out trying to figure out your problem?

The above is meant as purely tongue in cheek.

This has got to be the funniest thread ever. I'm glad you found out the problem and that you had the courage to tell us.  That shows character.

Glad you sorted it.

It may be worth adding "SOLVED" to the thread title.

This sort of thing is easily done, just remember it wasn't as bad as a guitar player I used to work with:

He called me one day to say he'd got a new multi -FX pedal, but couldn't get any sound out of it, no display, lights, nothing.  He'd been working at it all evening.  As I was into music tech, he wanted me to come and have a look.  I drove over to the rehearsal rooms and walked in, picked up the mains lead from the pedal, plugged it into the wall, flicked the switch and it lit up like a christmas tree.  He looked at me dumbfounded..

I guess he couldn't work out what that funny three pin plug was for..

I won't mention any Niles  names, as he might get embarrassed if he ever saw this..
