OK I have read and read and gone through the forum and I can not for the life of me figure out why and how these random lines are appearing. They most certainly have some type of automation (or similar)functionality as there are certain parameters that have no effect on the track data when I try and adjust them. I would really appreciate the help. Thanks

What colour are they?

I get this with random Clip gain envelopes suddenly appearing for no reason.  They are orange if you didn't know that.

well I am using a custom skin so I am not certain what the default color of this little pest is but you are real close even with the custom colors. It is a sort of Orange/yellow. Lets assume you are correct in your diagnosis; What do I do to stiop them or delete them if they show?

I am going crazy with not being able to get rid of automation once I've opened a lane. Last night for example, I added automation for a cutoff filter in Z3TA. I decided I didn't need it, so I deleted the whole line (and then deleted the dotted line. I then right clicked and selected "remove automation lane."  This should get rid of it entirely right?

Wrong. Every time I stopped playback and restarted, the cutoff dial would jump back to the level I'd set in the automation. I could change it during playback and it would stay there, but as soon as I stopped and started playback it would revert. If I added the cutoff lane again, the automation line would be there again, as  if I'd never deleted it. I had to go through this process 3 or 4 times before Sonar finally caved and decided to properly delete the automation. If this isn't a bug then I am very disillusioned.

PS I don't have "reset controllers to zero" selected in preferences.

I wonder if saving, closing, and reopening the project after deleting the lane would work?

Shouldn't have to do that but may be worth a try.

May have to close Sonar completely though.
