If I uninstall QuickTime will it now be safe to click on any link in any email even from the Hamster Groomers Forum?

I upgraded Melodyne Ed2 to Studio 4 this morning and noticed it uses QT, too. This ought to be interesting.....

The Spanish Inquisition!  (Sorry, couldnt wait any longer for the other shoe to drop.)

I'm reluctant to remove QuickTime because I think Sony Vegas requires it, but not sure about that.
I did disable the QT plugin in Firefox.

I've always hated apple programs on a PC. Quick time has always sucked to me. Same with iTunes. I've always wondered if it was on purpose. Also, they always leave stuff running in the background or at startup.

My sentiments, too.

I used to think it might be on purpose too.

But over time I've come to the conclusion that they just have a lot of thoroughly incompetent programmers. Though to be fair, they also have some very competent ones working in some key areas. But if you're a talented Windows programmer why in the world would you take a job at Apple?

After I disabled QT in IE and FireFox, my wife asked if we could just roll back to earlier versions before the "hackable updates"?

Anyone?

QuickTime's demise may be more abrupt than we expected. The Department of Homeland Security has issued an urgent bulletin urging all users to uninstall QT immediately. Within government agencies, this will likely be treated as more than a suggestion. I'm guessing the army and navy aren't big Rhyme Genie users.
