I have everything updated but I'm not seeing a new amp or cab in TH3.
Am I missing something (other than a amp and cap) in order to get these items?

Grum.

You only need to install the 2017.10 update to have the new TH3 Amp. You may also need to rescan the plug-in for it to be updated as well. If you go to Edit | Preferences | VST Setting and click Scan.

In TH3 Cakewalk Edition, you will now have the Overange and British State 2x12.

I scan on opening but scanned again anyway - no Amp and no Cab. I can see them lurking alongside all of the other unpurchased items but they are not available. I reiterate that everything is showing as up to date in my Command Centre so any other thoughts?
Am I the only one here with this problem?

Grum.

  • SONAR no longer requires project name dialog when creating project from Start Screen

Is there any way to get back or replicate the old behaviour?

Trying out the country loops under play preview and they are playing perfectly. When loaded into a track they sound distorted and not very good. Other loops I have form BigFish are playing ok.

I'm not at my studio, but it seemed to me that these loops did not follow the Project key until they were dragged into a track lane.  I can check again when I get home but it seemed that way.  Anyone can confirm one way or the other?

OK. I specifically let it install the BigFish loops (and it took a long time), but I can't find them anywhere? I looked in C:\Cakewalk Content\Audio Library. Not there.

Update:
OK I found them... it put them in my Wave file folder. Why not in Cakewalk Content? Bizarre.

My Big Fish Loops went to my D:\ drive, because that's where I have Sonar looking for All of my loops.

In Sonar Preferences > File > Folder Locations: Wave Files: (Look at your file path) mine points to D:\

An error occurred while trying to rename a file in the destination

That's a Windows permissions problem. The installer was unable to rename a file before overwriting it with a new version. Try running CCC as Administrator. While that shouldn't be necessary (I don't do it), there is something unusual about your Windows perms that's getting in the way.

Interesting.  Those loops do not show anywhere for me.  I would at least like to try them.

Is there a Tech+Music issue for this? I haven't been able to find it.

There will be no more issues that I know of, because I am no longer with Gibson. Although I listed a lot of people in the masthead, it was 90% a one-man show. Unless someone at Cakewalk takes it over, it's not going to happen.

I apologize to all those trying to figure out how to make the most out of loops; tips on making music with loops was going to be the feature story in the next issue. However, at least after being fired I did provide the 30 FX Chains and the documentation for same...I thought the community would appreciate that.

A lot of companies have approached me about consulting now that I'm part of the industry at large again. Although there won't be a Tech+Music magazine per se, I will continue to present material along those lines in many other venues.

Uhhmmmmmm.............. WHAT??? And yeah, the emphasis in the quote is mine, not Craig's.

I knew you were gone, Craig.... but, uhhhh, not like that. Holy sh****!!

The web page says there is, but it links to last month's (2017.09). Isssuuuu (or whatever it's called) reports no find on a direct search for 2017.10. So, it's classified, it seems.

I want to make perfectly clear that there is no truth whatsoever in the non-existent rumour that Mr. Anderton was summarily dismissed for inappropriately touching Mr. Juszkiewicz in a hotel room in Nashville on 1st April 1957. If any such touching did take place, I certainly don't remember it, and it is likely that this scurrilous allegation was nefariously promulgated by supporters of the discredited Epiphone government, who now face arrest under charges of rebellion and other badness, just as soon as I can find someone to sign this EuroArrest Warrant (TM). There is thought to be some truth in the rumour that Gibson touched the aforementioned Epiphone but there is no suggestion that this was not consensual. Although there is no Magic Money Tree and we live in a Mad World, I am pleased that Craig will carry on entertaining and helping us even without Gibson's beneficence. I am on my way to buy the cheapest Les Paul ever - cheap because Orville Gibson, Seth Lover and Lester Polfus were allowed nowhere near it - and along the way I hope to mature enough never again to give into temptation, not least the temptation to attempt weak satire.
