If you are not a loop user. You can just select the things you want. Just don't select all then. They are in yellow. So just update sonar program and not the loops that are in yellow.

I appreciate the Big Fish Audio loops in this update, but why does SPlat still bring loops in at the wrong tempo?! It brings them in set to "loop", and plays them at the wrong tempo (usually, too fast) and pitch unless you un-check "loop". This happens with all loops, not just the Big Fish Audio ones, and it goes back to at least Sonar X1. SPlat also previews loops at the wrong tempo and pitch if you have "Preview at Host Tempo" selected. This happens only with .WAV files, from what I've seen; .REX files work properly, but that's only due to the nature of their construction.

And why the hell does SPlat drop loops more than 100 measures into the song, even if you drag them to the beginning?! Again, this is with every .WAV loop I've ever tried, going back to X1.

Finally, where is the license information for the loops? There's nothing in the folder and nothing on the "2017.10 Update" pages. The links for "Learn more about Big Fish Audio Loop Content" and "Support Information" (in "My Products") only bring you back to Cakewalk.com.

I tried to search this forum for information on this, but got way too many unrelated questions about where to buy loops and how to set the tempo for projects.

Thanks!

When I bring Groove Clips (Acidized) loops into SONAR, they always conform to tempo, especially all the Big Fish ones. With WAV files that don't have that metadata, anything's possible.

SPlat also previews loops at the wrong tempo and pitch if you have "Preview at Host Tempo" selected.

Make sure you set the default Groove Clip pitch properly.

Yes and no. They include metadata for tempo, but not for pitch.

Probably because they're time-stamped BWF. In Preferences, turn off the option to import BWF waves at their time stamp.

I searched on "Big Fish Audio license agreement" and this was the top hit.

For more about using loops, please see my upcoming Sound on Sound column on using the BFA loops. I think it's slated for publication in either the December or January issue.

Thanks, Craig!

It was a combination of the default Groove Clip pitch and the time-stamp import preference (two things I've never touched in Sonar) that was causing the problem! I set the default Groove Clip pitch to "None" (I don't know why Cakewalk set it to "C") and I un-checked the time-stamp import preference. Now, the BFA clips (and others) work as expected. And now I can tell my fellow Sonar users in other forums, who've also had this problem!

I'll admit I didn't search BFA's website about the license, because I didn't know if the license would be modified since Cakewalk is giving away the loops, and some don't seem to be "complete". Thanks for the tip on that. Still, I think Cakewalk should have included some documentation with the loops.

And thanks for the FX Chains Collection in last month's update! I'm still exploring them, but they've been giving me some good ideas for tracks.

They were depending on me to provide that, but I was fired from Gibson before I could finish it...sorry.

Are you serious?! Geez, I'm sorry, Craig.

It's no big deal, really. I think we can all figure out the tempos and anything else we need for the loops.

ahh.. I wish I had read this 2 days ago....  never really worked with loops, only the occasional one shot, and my mind is working overtime from what I'm hearing and learning. The possibilities seem endless. Yeh, I know...still living in the past..

I'm looking forward to your SOS article Craig ...bring it on..

Sorry to say it would be a downgrade for me because of the PRV problems.
Still sticking with 2017.01 until the PRV is made to be as functional or better.
