The switch to turn off game mode is now gone in the latest Windows 10 Fall Creators Update and if the PC can support it, it's on by default. Do we need to turn this off? Cakewalk had a blog article about this a few months back and said to turn it off. I'd love for Cakewalk to chime in again about this.

According to Microsoft, W10 Fall Creators Update 'Game Mode' runs automatically when it detects an active game, so it shouldn't cause any issues with Sonar.
 
It is possible to disable it via the registry, but I haven't experienced any problems so far.

If you are comfortable editing the registry , go to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\GameBar

Add or modify the DWORD (32bit) value "AllowAutoGameMode" to be 0 under this key.
