I am having a problem with EZDrummer in X2. When I try to add it as a synth I get the properties interface as expected, but the kits do not load and it will not play. If I load a project that was created in X1 and has EZDrummer already included it works fine, but I can't get it to work with new X2 projects. OS is Windows 7 with Core i7 processor. 64 bit for both X2 and EZDrummer. Any thoughts on what I am missing?

Hey Ron, I also use EZDrummer but did not have this problem going from X1 to X2. With that said, did you look at the vst folders being scanned at startup? Could the X2 install have changed any paths you might have had setup under X1? Have there been any other changes on your machine subsequent to the X2 install? I found I had to re-authorize one of my products after I went to X2. (not EZD). Not sure if any of this helps, but all I can think of at the moment.

Yeah... I had some problems finding BFD stuff when I switched to X2. I had to manually hunt around for the folders and add them to the VST scanner thingy. All is well now.

Check out dxp's reply and keep us posted.  I have EZ Drummer and used it in X1 and now X2, and it works perfectly. (32bit though)

Check the outputs from EZD also to be sure they are routed to your soundcard (or to a bus which is then routed to your soundcard).

Check all the settings when the Properties page comes up as well... one more time.

EZDrummer is being scanned at startup, I can see it as the VST scan takes place. And it does show-up and work fine in X2 when I open projects that were initially created in X1. The problem seems confined to an inability to open new instances of EZDrummer in new projects created in X2.

I do have an ezdrummer dll file in three different places, all of which are being scanned for VST plugins. This may be because of initial 32 bit installs of EZDrummer and/or because of installation of expansion packs. Do I perhaps need to uninstall EZDrummer and reinstall?

I wouldn't think you would have to uninstall/reinstall... but what could it hurt?  Did you check all your inputs/outputs yet?  That's where most of my sound problems creep up.

you need to download and install the latest update from toontrack.  64bit EZD did exactly as you describe until the update is applied.

It appears that I already have the latest version - 1.3.1 - installed. Too bad, I got excited with this suggestion. I have double and triple checked inputs and outputs. Thanks, though. I am getting to the point where I will try anything.

Could it be an ezdrummer authorization issue? Maybe an authorization window hidden behind currently open windows? It seems like every time I turn around I have to re-authorize toontrack products.
