can sonarx2 be used as a front end to pro tools hd?

in this video sonar 3 is being showed off and it is using pro tools hd as its audio interface.. 

I didnt know this could be done and I am trying to learn here ..

fill me in ... is this done normally - can i do it in x2?

Just spit-balling here but ultimately a protools HD interface is still just an audio interface so I would guess that Sonar 3 in this case is just addressing it for what it is. It was the Protools application that would only work with PT hardware but not the other way around.
