Digimidi: yeah the link Resonant added up there ^ will get you started. You'll need to get in and tweak things though because that theme on its own won't get you what I got. You'll figure it out though.

Mauricio: It's definitely a pretty cool program for the price. I was sort of forced to use it due to a customer of mine wanting to be able to mess around with the files I recorded for him, so when he comes here, he likes me to use Reaper so he can take the project files back with him. I still don't prefer it over Sonar though...but I DO wish Sonar had the theme oriented options available.

Adding to our screensets, I'd love to see different consoles available with color options. The theme thing is so big in the Reaper community, they almost have competitions with it. It shows the love they have for that DAW. It's a really nice alternative in my opinion and you can change anything your heart desires inside of it. For some, it's too tedious and time consuming to tweak their entire DAW...but in my opinion, if I'm to look at something for hours, I need it to be attractive. I hated pro tools for years because it just reminded me of a DOS based program. I can't help it, looks are important to me as narrow-minded as that sounds. That said, the program works well...so the looks now match the power. :)

I don't mean to over apreciate the thing... But who didn't try Reaper yet...Should give it a chance... Really nice!

Hey Danny, that car is yours or you are just striking a pose in front of somebody elses car???(just kiding)

I think everyone should have a good back-up DAW. For me, my personal preferences are Studio One 2 and Reaper. But Sonar is still my go to recording application as it just suits my needs a bit better than everything else.

LOL @ the car question! I actually get that a lot. Yes, believe it or not it's really mine. :) You wouldn't believe some of the things I've had to do to prove it was mine. Hahaha!

One time, a guy said "I don't believe it. So, get an orange, write my name on the orange and put it on the roof of the car and take a picture of it." So I did. Then another guy told me "you're living in a phantasy world dude" when we were talking about cars on some site and I had mentioned I had a Lincoln and a Corvette. So heck, I went out into the rain and this was the end result.

It's ok though, I don't mind when people call me on something. (you of course being excluded here since I know you were joking) It's too easy to be something your not on the internet. :) One guy said "I bet you just ran to a neighbors house and took that pic." Nothing I can say to that other than..."stop over, I'll take you for a ride!" :)

Hey Danny... I decided to try Reaper ... They let us evaluate it for 60 days... Man!!! And that "Dark Side Imperial" theme... Is simply spectacular... I am learnig it, in my mean time, and am really liking... They aproach the costumer and comunity with a very cleaver attitude... Very elegant and confident.

I hope they stand with Cockos, instead of sell it for a major company, like Emagic, Steinberg and Twelve Tone did.

Peace.

Reaper is very powerful for guys who record live instruments.  The "Skin" feature is like crack, though.  It can really draw you in and get you sidetracked into changing skins every time one of the skin designers come up with a new one.  Those guys are amazingly creative but I found myself constantly tweaking the program with modifications when a new skin would be posted.

Why can't we have that kind of ability to modify as we wish???
Why is it one of the oldest DAWs CANNOT  have such 3rd party support??????

Complete interface SDK???

Updated Macro language???

Fully implemented MFX script???

No, what we get is De-Cluttering Hysteria. "Oh it looks so nice and clean."

Proprietariness does not increase market share.

OK so it looks like maybe Cakewalk needs to come up with a vette theme for Sonar. That would be sweet.lol

I guess I'm a very utilitarian individual. I can inderstand those little things like screen sizing but man Cbase sure needs to make up for a whole lot of ugly screen sizing or not.
