  • Have you guys been using R-Mix much? If so how? (p.2)

Other than the fact that it crashes Sonar quite regularly, I'm sure it will be a very useful tool.

I friend gave me a Disk with some native American Drumming that had a bad low hum in the recording ,,,, R-Mix removed it very well with no effort ... I can't wait to do some special effects with the automation .

Did it come with instructions? I'm lost every time I fiddle with it.

Yeah, tell me about it...I open it up and I'm confronted with a live visualization of a migraine...after fiddling a bit I begin to get one - migraine, that is.  :)

Seriously, is there a video that shows you how to do stuff with it?  If you want to do X, then here's how you do it...type video?  (i've looked on YouTube for one but can't find it.)  Thanks.

This overview video helped me get an idea of how to work with it -

Towards the end of it, there's a little demo of how to use it as an effect, and I've messed around with it that way, with loops.  Basically, I'd get a loop going, and then play with using R-Mix as a sort of live mangler/effect/filter.  Depending on the kind of loop, and how creative I felt, the results could get pretty darn interesting.  Doing an automation record while you play gives take lanes for the various parameters, which then can be edited.  Seems like there's lots of potential there.

I have been using it to remove bleed from overhead drum mics.

Besides cleaning up a sound, I've used it with automation, sort of like an LFO, moving the red box from top to bottom, to change the sound.

I wonder how hard it would be to map the bubble/box to my padKontrol. I think the x/y pad could do some coolio stuff with it.

@GIM... I've been meaning to ask you this. It's hard to tell from the pic but you look a lot like a buddy of mine who does sound stuff. Are you Canadian?

Oh. Heheh. The resemblance is striking... and now I'm remembering I might have already asked you that a while ago. I can be a bit of a space cadet at times. ;-)
