BYE.
You would think it would be cheaper to stick with X1 and wait for a service pack for X2, or plea for help but each to their own.

If you can't use 24 tracks efficiently ask yourself why others can? That's most likely your hardware or lack of optimization with Sonar, you've neglected to say if there were issues with X1 or not. But hey drama and finger pointing is always fun to read.

I don't think it's a case so much of raised Heckels or not from me anyway.

I just think there are more issues with his setup than software choice if tracking 24 at once is a problem.

Not liking the direction that CW has gone is fine and a good reason to look elsewhere. Something as simple as tracking problems indicates a bigger problem which may or may not be solved by swapping programs.

X2 certainly tracks a lot more than 24 at once here and that's on a lowly laptop, to me that suggests the OP has some sort of set up problem.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the original post was one big heckle towards Cakewalk.... the love you take is equal to the love you make.

Did you actually read the original post? One HUGE heckle:

> I See other loyal cake walkers sniffing out other Daw sites so I am afraid I am not the only one. I'm glad I own no stock in this company. I don't think I could sleep knowing my money was in a very leaky boat with impaired deck officers.  Maybe you really should bake cakes , because code writing  just is not  working for you. My only loyalty from this point on is to my clients and myself.Hard earned cash should buy solutions and not admission to Daw Hell.
Please remove from forum. I do thank the kind helpful members for help over the years. I do however believe now this company in beyond help.

So sad .

Strangely enough, he said this exactly one year ago:

" I have used Slimeberg, and No Tools and do not use them anymore because of their lack of customer support"

I have one foot in the Steinberg camp and the rest of me in the Sonar camp. People pay me to use Nuendo for them so I do it. I can tell you, there are some weird issues with Steinbergs as well. I hope you don't get disapointed because the grass is no greener on that side of the fence.

However, they are releasing some seriously nice looking kits now, and the new control surface looks awesome with Nuendo! When they get Cubase and Nuendo stable they will probably be really awesome, but they'll never be Sonar I almost juped ship before X1 came so I see where you are coming from. Good luck! And which ever way you put it, it's always good to use more than one DAW.

Man I tried to stay out of this, but here goes.

@Anniedog: I feel your pain. If I were in a professional environment, I have to admit, I would never use Cakewalk software. I understand that software has it's quirks and little bugs here and there ... but nothing to the extent that X1 and X2 have given us.

I don't understand why people are so loyal to a corporation and spout off like in post #5. Dude ... there is so much wrong what you said in that post that we would be here for a year discussing it.

Cakewalk has absolutely ZERO loyalty to anyone here. Same for Cubase, ProTools, and all the others. They are here to make money. Period. They aren't here to help you through your day, or befriend you. The people at Cakewalk are there to pay for their cars, homes, children, etc. If anyone has any notion of anything different and feels all warm and fuzzy inside because they've stayed loyal to Cakewalk and feels the need to come on here and defend them and belittle anyone who takes a stand that says they've had enough ... well ... you're an fool in my opinion.

I wonder just how large the "us" in that statement really is...   It's obvious from this forum that many are (and have been) getting along just fine, quirks and related sundries aside.  And this is the same place created to handle problems, bugs, questions, etc.    I suppose it's all relative.
