I don't think I've had this happen before (although I do not work with loops often) but I all of a sudden can't hear loops in the X1 browser when I click them. The button at the top of the browser turns into a "stop" button as if it thinks it is indeed playing. Then if I click that button, it then turns into a "play" button. But I can't hear anything. I've tried various loops and Sonar doesn't seem to care - none work. If I drag into a track I can hear them, but not in the browser. Ideas?? Thank you!

Click the Browser's Media tab, and make sure Audio Preview Bus is set to a bus you can hear.

Does that solve it?

Glad to help! But you forgot to say "I can't audition loops! Sonar is a piece of crap! You're all idiots for using it, and I'm leaving the forum forever!"

Haha! One thing - if anything - I've learned from my years with Sonar. When something doesn't work right, it's almost always MY fault!!

This is very similar to an on going problem I have (and my Audio Browser is set)...please see the detailed explanation below: I'm going through the tutorial X2 Explained. I can't audition loops in Media, and if I drag them into a trac, Sonar crashes. here is the history and detailed evolution of my problem: I did the following SUCCESSFULLY a couple times but then had these results: I go to Project File, choose Blank, go to Browser>Media>Loops>Loopmaster>World of Jazz (actually ANY loop from here on results in the same thing)>Jazz Session> and I'm choosing the top or the list that opens (although again any choice will result the same), and with Auto Preview selected in Media, and having set up my Stereo Preview Bus in Console view, I get no sound. At first I COULD get the sounds to audition. I even drug a drum set into a trac and played it, and added a bass from Media, and played them together. THE PROBLEM BEGINS: After this success, I closed Sonar and started over (for practice), but I could no longer audition sounds in Media unless I drug them into a trac. Now as I start over (practicing) and press Play for any of these loops I've drug into my tracs (still won't play in Media), Sonar crashes - every time - at that point. There seems to be "gradual degradation" going on. What might I be doing unconsciously? Any ideas? Scott G. thinks it could be a bug. Thanks.

I have had the same problem with audio loops sometimes not auditioning in the browser, and occasionally crashing the program when I drag them in. It only happens on certain loops - one will refuse to play, then the one below it works fine.

Try clearing your Picture Cache folder.  If I audition too many loops, I get an "Out Of Memory" error message.  This usually helps for some odd reason.
