Good day everyone

I was wondering if Sonar X1 (Studio) has a feature that is found in Reason and I find very useful, where you can change the pitch of a REX clip in realtime via keyboard whilst playing back or recording. Personally, I find manually adjusting the pitch of slices within a clip (at least, that's all I know how to do in Sonar) rather cumbersome and time-consuming.

Any input / comments / advice is much appreciated, thank you.

If I understand what you're asking... you can load the REX loop into the RXP synth in SONAR and then activate Loop mode in RXP. This will allow you to play the loop at different transpositions.

That sounds just like the ticket, Scott - many thanks, shall try it out!

How about something with a bit more interpolation than just semitone increments LIKE A DIAL perhaps. A better way than markers to get multiple clips transposing fluidly would be really sweet it's something I have wished sonar had for like a decade now!

hrm. how about just bounce the clip to a wav file then bring it into rapture and set keytrack around 18-25 or just use a non-standard scala file in the pitch section.  and, if you want the clip to retain its looping properties you can use wavosaur (it's free) to set up loop points at the beginning and end of the file. that way, when you drag the wav file into rapture it will loop automatically without an sfz file, though the timing will be a bit screwy because increasing pitch basically means playing back the sample faster.  beatscape is another option and you can have multiple rx2s loaded - just beware of automating the fx knobs because the nrpn mappings are labeled wrong. :/

oh, and dimension pro can import rx2 files, then it will create a midi pattern for it too that you can drop into a midi lane.
