Here is an updated version of Beautiful Girls cover with suggested updates added.   The first version I posted was the instrumental track only, no vocals, the version before included vocals but required some additional changes.   This version includes vocals by Robby.  Robby did all the lead and backing vocals, I used Melodyne to match his harmonies to the VH harmony sound in few spots but otherwise these are the original vocal tracks without any correction.   I think he did a really good job all around including the DLR screams and sound effects.

Changes to this version include adding lower-mid to guitar and bass, pulling back guitar reverb, pulling back guitar volume, increasing tom volume, increasing the "kiss" sound at the end and a few other tweaks.

Beautiful Girls with Vocals -Last Version (Removed)

I made several changes to the previously posted backing tracking based on input from a number of forum members.  Very much appreciated that feedback.  The changes made to the new version above includes EQ'ing the guitar to have a bit more lower-mid presence, adding some more reverb to the guitar, pulled the bass back a bit and added a bump at 100Hz.  I left the old backing track posted on SoundClick so you could hear the differences.   It is here:

Thanks everyone for the comments on the backing track I posted because the suggested changes really brought this to life for the vocals to work.   Additional comments welcome.

You guys did a great job on this! Very close to the feel of the original song, which is hard to do.

Nice job!   VH ain't easy to pull off, but I think you've done them proud.

I'm sure Mark will still be able to play (and mix) like this for years to come. I fear that my ability to do tribute versions to Mr. Lee Roth may not last much longer. It's not easy to do. I love it? But it gets harder and harder. I like the melodic stuff, harmonies, Eagles :-)

He'll be trading me in on a newer model before long. Like a trophy wife, I've had my run? But now I need a hefty dose of "replense" before relations (a project)

Nice to hear the finished version! Robbie, I had no idea you could do this...

Instrumentation is spot on! I still really dig that bass.

Great job guys!  I listened to the instrumental track the other day and thought is was good but adding the vocals really made it shine.  It is pretty crazy how close this sounds to the original.  Wow!

Not my usual fare

Mark knows how to stretch my envelope. Sort of reminds me of that first long night in prison unfortunately...

Sounds great guys! Good job all the way around. Vocals are great ,instrumentation is great! My only suggestion would be that maybe there is just a touch too much reverb on the guitar but I guess it comes down to taste , not a technical issue.

I may agree w/you teego, but I am reluctant to raise my eys above the feet of the master? But you make a good point...

At first, he wanted me dry? But now he presents himself "soaking wet!" I say we revolt!!
