Okay, so I've been running on a single-core P4 3.2GHz WinXP SP2 machine since 2002. I was running Sonar 8.5 Pro (32-bit), although I have purchased X1 and X2. My machine died. So I finally decided to step up to the new age and went to ADK Pro Audio to build my new system (since that's what a lot of you guys rant and rave about) . Christmas is on it's way! Before Christmas, I should now have a new machine that runs Sonar X1 and X2. Here's what I got. Sweet. That must have put a dent in your wallet. Well worth it I'm sure though. I hope I can afford one their systems by the time I need to upgrade which hopefully won't be for another 4 years or so (just built my system with the future in mind). I'd actually like one of their laptops though. Cheers.

Thanks!!! Can't wait to give it a spin!!! Thanks ADK Pro Audio for taking this burden off of my shoulders. No longer will I configure another DAW if I can help it.

Yeah, it did dent the wallet a bit, but I too was thinking about future growth. It's not like I'm going to be scoring movies or kicking out soundtracks in the immediate future, but it's good to know that I have the option to skim the surface and explore. Just imagining what it feels like to lay down tracks and not have to bounce every take to keep from tanking my system.

Jab you're going to need to purchase seat belts for that system. You also may find that the entire world speeds up. I suggest a red flashing light when you turn it on.

Actually it sounds like you got the system I modeled mine after except with a bunch of the extra flair. I built mine for about $1500 in parts. Their system was a few hundred bucks more than that but after taxes, shipping and getting cornholed by Canadian customs it probably would have ended up being closer to $2400. Man I hate customs.

Very nice. Have you considered a solid state drive for your OS and programs? That will double the speed at least of your boot up and sonar boot up. If you choose to run audio from it as well, you are really talking extremely quick. It is extremely noticeable and a very under rated upgrade for pc systems.
Congrats and good luck.
