I now seem to be having a hard time hooking into the hotspots that allow you to drag tracks around in the Track View. I don't recall it being this difficult a few weeks ago but maybe I was just too absorbed in what I was doing to notice. I've already had issues with the slip edit/fader hotspots when editing but work around it. How many of you guys are having problems like this? Should this be a bulk fix request or is my computer just being weird? Cheers.

You have to find the "magnetic strength" setting in preferences and adjust it till your happy.

I wonder if there's some sort of compatibility problem with some graphics cards or something weird like that? I've seen others comment on hard to find hotspots but I don't have that problem at all. I'm using and ATi 5450 on my main set up and onboard graphics on my laptop.

I assume you are click dragging in the header of expanded tracks and top half of collapsed ones? Once over a clip no matter how small vertically the cursor should be in one of two states - drag select over the lower half or drag move over the upper half.

Seems to be working here.

Top half of clip cursor turns to four way arrow to drag move, and on bottom half turn to select tool (Like a big letter "I") over the bottom half of clip to drag select.

Does your cursor change like that?

That's what I see.  Though for some reason the switch isn't always immediate - I sometimes have to hover around for a second.

Sorry guys. Wasn't feeling well last night and had to go to bed.

I think I made a terminology error. I wasn't referring to clips so much aside from the fade and slip editing hotspots. When I was talking about moving the tracks around I meant in the pane beside the track view. Track Pane? Track List? Essentially where you do your i/o, quick group, arm, disarm stuff. Last night as I was trying organize my tracks into appropriate folders the small blocky double arrows that allows you to drag the tracks up or down in the list weren't showing up properly. I'm used to hovering in the gray space and having the cursor change rather easily. Now it seems I'm having to move the cursor all over the place until I find a teeny tiny slice of gray that activates the double cursor. It's annoying.

As far as the general clips cursors most of them work okay (aside from the slip edit stuff) but they do occasionally bug out on me. As FBB mentioned (and I mentioned in another thread) I'm wondering if all this has to do with my cheapo video card. I play some pretty graphically intense games on the system (although old games like COD and COD2)  at the highest res settings and it's perfect. In X2 though I get this weirdness and some other visual oddities (sometimes I'll get blocky gray lines in weird places... it's hard to describe). This is all brand new stuff so I doubt anything is failing (I hope). Just wondering how many others are experiencing similar stuff.

With the hotspots as they are I wonder how hard it's going to be for those planning to use touchscreens and Win 8. I'm using a super precise high end trackball and it's still giving me a hard time.

Cheers and sorry for not being clearer in my OP.

Beepster I think you are talking about the track header.

To move a track up or down in the track pane click and hold the track header and you should be able to move it to where you want it. In this case its the part with the title on it. Pick and empty area to click on.

Hi, John. I'm not confused as to how to do it. The problem is the cursor isn't changing properly to actually make it happen. It's only giving me a few pixel lines to hook into (if that) making it a chore to rearrange my tracks or move them into folders. Cheers.

FWIW, I sometimes see this too - where the cursor doesn't want to change from stretching a track header (or selecting a widget) to moving the track header.   No idea why though.   I'd imagine there has to be a logic to it, being code and all, but whatever it is I haven't been able to identify any reproducible pattern.

Are you guys clicking on the title part of the track header? Not the title itself though.
