Hello, I know this might be a dumb question but, "How do you shorten the length of a song?" as an example from 6:00min down to 5:00min.
Recently I recorded a song lets say 5 minutes, and for some reason an additional minute was added (silents) before changing to the next song.

I appreciate the help, thank you!

So you don't really want to shorten the song, just make the track shorter.
Does the track have a colored bar in it that is a minute longer than the waveform in the track?
Just use the Split tool to split the track, then delete the part with no audio in it.
Play it to see if it stops at the right place.

+1 to what Greg suggested

also,
if there are more than 1 song on the track and your looking at deleting space between them,
once you have split the clips at the end of the first song in the spot needed,
Click Drag Lasso the clips after the splits and drag them to the left where needed

Thank you for the response! 57gregy, "No" there is no color graph beyond the songs ending point. The song ends at 5:50min and beyond that point there is no color graph, but if you advance to the ending it's at 6:15? The song has a fade that ends at 5:50, I've checked and there is no markers to indicate 6:15 as a stop point! When I mix and put the song on a CD, it goes to 6:15 before changing. Like I mentioned, from 5:50 where the song ends, to 6:15 is blank with No color graph and No markers to indicate 6:15 as a end point. Thank you for the help!

Hello Bristol_Jonesey, thank you for your reply! It was the Envelope Nodes, I used the "Write" program on the Master-Bus and I had it hidden or minimized and didn't turn it off? so when I went a little over where the song should have stopped, it lengthen the stop point.

Thanks again!

Mike.
