My DAW is not online...and I just started experiencing crashes on one particular song.  Just happened all of a sudden.  Now I can't even open the project back up.  I save quite regularly...but didn't save as a different file name...now my project is toast and I'll probably have to start over from scratch.

It seems to be related to this one project as I can open other projects.  But when I try to open the crashed project...it doesn't even fully open until I get the "Sonar has stopped working" window and creates a crash dump file.

Where can I send the crash dumps Sonar creates since I'm not online with the DAW?

Have you tried opening the project is "Safe mode"?
Hold down the SHIFT Key and open the project.

There's still something screwed with the project.  Got to work on the project for a few more minutes before it started the same crashes.

Still need to find out where I can send these crash dumps to CW.

Maybe a call to tech support might be a good idea, they might be able to sort out the project issue over the phone

Thanks scook....I have narrowed down what the problem is...just don't know how to fix it.

I had an instance of Superior Drummer with Latin Percussion in the project originally...but since have deleted the SD soft synth from the project since I wasn't using it.  BUT....I'm still seeing the track in both the TV and CV...where the latin perc was, although the synth itself is gone.  If I click anywhere on the track in either TV or CV...that's when it locks up everytime.

Think I will call them.  I would really like to salvage this project and not have to start over from scratch.

What about starting a *new* project and copy and paste your tracks to the new project?

LOL...kevo....that's exactly what I've been doing the past half hour.  Then I see your post :) .

I think I've salvaged the project...thanks again.

When you delete a soft synth, any tracks that had previously been routed to it must be re-routed somewhere else. That "somewhere else" will generally be the next destination on the list and might be wildly inappropriate, such as an external hardware controller.

Whenever you want to substitute a different soft synth for an existing track, it's best to insert the new synth first and re-route the tracks before deleting the old synth. If the MIDI tracks are being retired rather than reassigned, and won't be used or won't be needed for a while, archive them. Archived tracks, whether MIDI or audio, are completely ignored and therefore cannot cause any problems.
