Going back a long way, the first score writing software I ever used was a Cakewalk product: Cakewalk's 'Score Writer' and 'Overture'). That then became Geniesoft (Score Writer and Overture 4) and is now renamed as Sonic Scores. www.sonicscores.com
Overture 4 is still my main notation programme of choice.

Funny, if Logic was still owned by Emagic, I'd bet they'd have been in the quest for the Sibelius resources too.

If Logic was still owned by Emagic I might still be using it.

Hah!! - I came to Calkwalk via Emagic Logic as well.

The inside info (aka rumors) over on the EW forum is that Steinberg will be developing a new stand alone Notion product from the ground up.

The inside info (aka rumors) over on the EW forum is that Steinberg will be developing a new stand alone Notion product from the ground up.

I'm not familiar with the EW forum, but on other forums, the speculation is the same, although there is further speculation that a subset of the newly developed code base could end up in Cubase, which has some of its own limitiations.

This would be similar to the Sibelius funtionality which ended up in Pro Tools.

Boy, I wish Roland would buy Finale or Notion.
