  • I sure hope they release an update for X2 soon. (p.3)

Soens: I am running Visual Studio 2012. For me, that fixed some issues I had win Sonar. I've also heard that this improves Windows 8, but haven't noticed much myself. I was highly recommended in another thread to update (don't remember which one though).

Sharke: Yes, 2012 C++... It worked for me, so not sure what can cause your problems. Sorry to hear this. Have you run Virus check, updated drivers etc?? I've heard that some people have experienced Bitbridge problems, but don't know i what way. Which I could help you more. Contact CW tech support might help you. Good Luck!

> But don't applications usually install the require C++ redistributable when installing themselves?

Right. You shouldn't need to install C++ redistributable. Run Windows update instead in case any updates are required. Any issues with the the C++ library should be immediately obvious in the Windows Event Viewer anyway (check it).

I hope Cakewalk take their time releasing the next patch out, get it tested etc first.

I too have become very anxious for an update. After fighting my way thru the plethora of issues moving to a new PCM as well as moving into the x64 realm, I get frustrated with the myriad of issues with lanes... Right now lanes are killing the X2 experience for me...

I'm just not getting any actual music made...

You don't have to use lanes though. It's optional.

Omni G’day
The occasional crash is no big deal to me The more I save my work the less crashes I get.  (I think there is a connection here!)
I also use auto-save.

My frustrations with X2 are issues that IMHO should have been fixed with beta testing.

"Folder Headers"
Projects saved with "Folder Headers" diminished in size, but on reopening project.
“Folder Headers" are expanded.  It only happens on some and not all projects so it’s not a feature.

Peak markers display incorrectly
The green vertical line displays fine but the numerical figures in white are truncated and only refreshes properly when I zoom out/in

Waveform preview
When a bus is clipping then preview tells me so… cool
Turn bus down and play same measures repeatedly and I get a different visual display every time. That is to say, the actual wave size varies and what is red or green vary when no digital clipping is happening. Turn Waveform preview off/on and it displays properly.

I never experienced any of these issues in 8.5.3
It seems to me the bakers have made some great improvements in X1 and X2 to speed up the workflow, but this is offset with irritating NEW! gremlins that slow down my workflow. Oh how I wish I had the best of X2 and 8.5.3 in one program.

Hoping very much that these issues are all me, and some kind sole with explain what I am doing/not doing correctly.

Off topic… Keni it’s time for a new hat! The old one is curling up at the edges.

Yes Alex, separately, but I only got replays confirming “some” had been received so I will report again.
