• SONAR
  • Midi devices can not be chosen any more (p.2)

Now, I have an idea what the problem caused... (Unfortunately not a solution...) I changed a midi-in device (wireless midi connection). It seems, as if it is not possible to share the new device (Widi XU) between the harmonizer and sonar. The earlier device (Midair) was accepted by both programs simultaneously. With Midair, it was possible to choose several virtual "Midi ins"; Widi only offers one Midi-Port. Perhaps, that is the problem? Does someone have an idea to get both programs to share the new "Midi in"-port of the Widi-device?

I am not sure how you have all of this configured, so please forgive my ignorance.  I read some online doc on the Widi XU, and it looks like it can be set to connect to multiple devices.  Is there any setting within the Widi Xu that needs to be set?

Here is one bullet on the specs for the device: "Manual switching for one-to-multi communication (auto finding and selecting)."

And a bit more: "The WIDI-XU even provides one-to-multi communication; one WIDI-XU can connect to many wireless MIDI devices, up to 64 MIDI channels."

I couldn't figure this out from the manual, if the issue even lies within the Widi XU device.

Here is a link to the manual, in case you see something:

I also read the manual. I only found the possibility to change the midi-channel of the Widi-XU (with a special program). But what I need, is an extra midi device, so each program (harmonizer and Sonar X1) can get one. I wrote an e-mail to CME (producers of the WIDI-XU), if this is possible. But if you see another solution... (perhaps within Sonar...).

I have no way to test anything regarding this, so I would just keep after the CME folks on an answer to the problem.

Wish I had more to offer, I was hoping it would have been something simple, but I didn't come away from reading the manual with any clue whatsoever on how to resolve this.
