Hi All I'm running Win 7 64bit Cakewalk Platinum with the latest updates.
I first installed Komplete 10 from Disks then upgraded to Komplete 10 Ultimate from external HD.
What happens when I go to update program-(s) within the Service Center it will download the update that's fine, It's when I go to install the update it starts and goes through all the steps to update the program and just before its done I get a error message that the update can't find a valid program (missing the .msi) it stops the update and instructs me to re-install the original program. The Service Center then removes the program from my computer. This has happened with Absynth, Kontakt, FM8 and Komplete Kontrol. I'm afraid to do any updates as it's a major issue re-installing the programs. Any Ideas???

ER,....were you attempting to contact a Native-Instruments forum regarding a Native-Instruments installation problem? This heres a Cakewalk forum.

This has been moved from the SONAR forum as it would appear to be more of a software issue than a SONAR issue.

This comes up about once a month. Never, instal from Service Center. Close it and install from the folders on your desktop. There is no way to reverse it. If you installed the sample libraries to a seperate hard drive you should only instal programs. You won't needti install libraries again.

A good thing to do is tell the Service Center WHERE to download them to and not
to delete the downloads.  Then, when you go the folder, run the downloads as "Administrator"
by right clicking on the file and select "Run as Administrator".  This will ensure no
issues on install...

The service center has in many cases been known to delete plugins instead of updating them. It's an absolute bug filled piece of crap.

Sorry for posting to the wrong forum but I did get some good feed back thanks. Some of these options I've tried like not using the service center to install. Still the same problems. I guess I'll give NI the issue, sorry again for posting here I guess I was just pissed and I just run a muck posting.
Thanks Everyone

I just downloaded the latest NI updates and it did not know my default VST install locations, in fact "VST" wasn't even selected in the installer. So I suspect this is probably at least partially responsible for why the automatic Service Center install feature screws things up so badly. For the life of me I don't know why the Service Center doesn't let you edit your default install locations - all you can do is select the installer download location.

When I ran the first installer of the updates, it had both my 32-bit and 64-bit locations wrong, so I corrected both. Then when I ran the next installer, it got the 32-bit location right but still had the wrong 64-bit location. It wasn't until the third installer that both install locations were set correctly.
