I cannot install the latest 3.0.1 driver update.

It keeps looking for an appdata file/directory entry.

I cannae be arsed to find out why.

I am not having any problems with 3.0.0 so until I do, I'll just stick with 3.0.0.

Actually I was making a comment, but then realized I probably updated already with no issues. but I'm not at my machine. So I have no comment. This is an unnecessary reply on my part. And verbose for saying nothing. No light to shed on the subject I'm afraid.

May I suggest "Run As Administrator" for the installation, just in case you didn't. On Win7/8/10 that's generally required for system services.

Maybe we are not seeing the same thing. I cannot go on. It wants a specific named folder that contains the .msi, that is not there (the folder is not there). I have an alternate folder with the .msi and if I select that one it tells me it can't find the (original) named folder. Then I can either continue to locate the (non-existant) folder or cancel.

I cannot "just go on".

Therefore I am still on 3.0.0.
