It does have a Mackie mode but for use with other DAWs. I don't believe it works with X1 in that mode. This was added after the first V 700 came out and is not the same model as the one that only works with Sonar. I think its the C model that has the Mackie mode. The V 700 has its own protocol for Sonar.

Ah, John, that would explain some of the stuff I've read. I was hoping the vs700's  internal mackie-ness would bode well for the MCU control of PC, and I still can't shake the feeling that it's close, but if the mackie mode is to support other DAW.s then it all makes sense.  Even though I probably do not at this point....

Thanks all for your informative postings on using the Mackie MCU and C4 with ProChannel.  At this point the only option for me to "scroll" through the Prochannel options seems to be to create a dummy track (first track in my project), expose (but disable) prochannel modules there, then drag and drop the module type I want to see on the C4 to the top of the list in this first track..

At this point, this will expose this particular module when using prochannel from the C4 as the "first" module in all my other tracks.

Is this still the "state of the art" to access the prochannel strips from the C4?

As  Michael Five notes - there seems to be VS700 support for scrolling through the Prochannel modules... shouldn't be a big deal for CW to add this to the C4 support...

Hi rjwhite - I tried your approach, putting the EQ on top in track 1. And I can control EQ from the Mackie C4 in track 1. However when I go to track 2, which has the compressor on top, the C4 parameters switch to the compressor. So for me, it looks like the C4 reads the first plugin in each track, not according to the dummy track 1. Does this make sense? Am I understanding you correctly on how you have it working? Thanks, Kevin
