Hi folks,
Just a quick note about UAD software versions later than 6.3.0. I just got off the phone with UAD and it turns out there is a known issue with 6.3.1 and later and X2 (possibly only the 64 bit version). UAD says there are problems with their plugs and X2, and at least in my case, those problems mean that none of the VSTs work at all. I can insert them but they don't process sound or do...well....anything at all.

UAD does not have a timeline on a fix, but hopefully it's soon.

Oh man, that is very lame,I mean UA promised[?],or actually said "Summer 2012" for Windows 7 capability, for the much lauded "Apollo Interface",and still No Go,as far as I'm aware.

UAD dsp cards were actually things I read about, and liked what I was reading, only back in 2010,actually"before"I even realised properly, why Roland had stopped making the VS-2480 recorder, meaning the reputation of Universal Audio, was something that caught my attention,on the net, before I even really knew what DAW "software" was![I apologize for such "newbitity",but I only first, touched a QWERTY/used a computer ever,in late 09,at age 45].

Considering the supposed[Iv'e never used them] Quality of the HW emulation, and fairly intense outlay, for arguably unnecessary[?][with cpu's being as potent as they are] non-native processing,If I were you,I'd be livid.

I hope they fix this pronto, earlier even,as they are really dragging with x64.

Good Luck,Regards
Bob

Sonar X2 32 bit works with UAD 6.3.1 and above.

Hi Stoutlyric,
Thanks, that's what I've heard from others as well. Sadly 32 bit isn't really an option for me. I have 24GB of RAM in my computer and I'd exceed the 4GB limit of a 32-bit OS with a drum kit and a piano :)

Hopefully UAD will get things fixed sometime soon.

I spoke to UAD tech support today.  I am using Sonar 8.5.3 64 bit and I had the same problem with the UAD latest software (but no problem with 6.2.)
Anyway, the UAD tech said that UAD 64bit versions of the software should be available within the next two months.  That may solve it.
Also Jbridge may solve it (instead of using bitbridge) - but I am not sure.  That was speculative.
This was really frustrating for me.

Very Frustrating! I have and used my UAD Quad card for a number of years without issue ,with sonar 8.0 all the way up to X1 in 64bit win 7 pro and sonar 64 bit. It seems UAD have shifted much of their focus to Apple! I find this a betrayal to the loyal PC users that have been supporting and using UAD products for years.I have almost 4 grand invested in their  plug-ins  If you look at  the statistics, contrary to popular belief, there are more PC DAW users then Mac Daw users by a significant amount. Examples of this shift in UAD's support: the Apollo  interface still only for MAC, the new PC driver issues,  thunderbolt ,which is now available on some PC Mbs. it would be a great time for some alternate DSP supported plug-in  manufacturing company to come out and bite them in the ass. I really think UAD have got on the wrong buss this time. excuse the pun. lol.

Hey Deswind, nice to run in you again. I've actually tried it with both jbridge and bit bridge. No luck with either. And I certainly hope they're doing more than just hoping 64 bit will solve it. UA knowing its broken and not trying to fix it would be deeply disappointing.

BTW, did you ever pick up that 251 you talked to me about a while back? Been regretting not getting that when I had the chance.

Hi Dean.   That was a sad story on those 251s!  If I remember correctly, we could have got them for $2500 each, but I could not get a second buyer and the guy later sold them for about $3300 each ):

Ok - back to topic.  UAD did sort of allude that the new software for UAD did something to the 64 bit environment in running the 32 bit UAD plugs.  I got the feeling that it was not worth their time figuring it all out when they are releasing the 64 bit version so soon.  So problem an economic decision.   I think Matt from UAD is also a Utah guy - maybe he will chime in.  Best to you!  Deswind

Seems its broken and they are working on it. (Sonar) With UAD v6.3.1 and v6.3.2, this host may stop responding when available UAD DSP is exceeded. Workaround: Use UAD v6.3.0 unless the UAD-2 OCTO card is installed. We are working to resolve this issue.
