Is anyone using Eucon support in X1?  I am really trying to find a control surface that is better than Novation Automap and cant find anything close.  Basically I just found out that VS-700c doesnt support 64 bit!  So thats out! I am stunned that sonar who hung their hat on 64bit hasnt updated thier flagship controller to support it.  amazing.  Euphonix stuff is the only thing Ive seen that really looks well integrated but I cant tell if X1 still supports eucon.

The VS-700c, and every V-Studio device for that matter, most certainly does fully support x64. :-) Where did you find out this mis-information?

As for the EuCon Control Surface Plug-in, it's available for download for the SONAR 8.5 update support, and that article says it supports SONAR 7, 8, and 8.5. I don't know why it's not listed as a download under SONAR X1 support. I can't imagine that Cakewalk would take away support for the EuCon controllers in X1.

Maybe someone from Cakewalk will chime in. :)

Sorry, I don't really know the ins and outs of EuCon support as I've no hands on experience with those controllers.

Im happy to be wrong but I was reading it on the vs700 forums here and then couldnt find any indication that it did support it.

I really think the vs700 looks like the best control surface (im still trying to get a really good understanding of the pre's in the 700R) If it does run on 64bit then it remains my top contender for my next upgrade.  I just wish there was a consule desk that fit it really well.  I cant seem to find one.  I'm also concerned that the vs700 still ships with 8.5 instead of x1.  Not sure why that would be if it fully supports x1.

Everything in the VS-700 works in x64. You can get the control surface separately and it has its own x64 driver, or you can buy the entire package and and it has its unified driver for the interface and console. Perhaps the people in the VS-700 forum were talking about the Fantom VS. While it does work in SONAR x64, it is not a native x64 plugin and runs via Bit-bridge, but it does work. The control surface also fully works with X1, including the ProChannel, etc. I'm not sure which version of SONAR ships in the VS-700 box, though. You would have to contact Roland for that, or check out www.rolandus.com. Hope that helps. :-)

If it hasn't changed, then the V-Studio 700 originally included SONAR 8.

I could have sworn I just saw an ad for it (V700) that named X1 Essentials as bundled...

I'll try to find it again...

I have Sonar x1c and am running with an Artist Mix and an Artist Transport. How can I help?

Yes the 700C is the best control surface option IMO for Sonar and it certainly does run perfectly fine under 64bit. Could use some flexibility update however for X1 but nothing that's a show stopper.... yet.
