Can I speculate? Perhaps the 32 foot cord is doubling the spec with the repeater end. That end is special and lights up. I think it uses power from the nearest USB device to strengthen the signal. It is interesting that it is almost precisely double spec, isn't it? Everyone says 15-16 feet is the limit, but this cord is exactly twice. And you get more than the 32 feet b/c you plug yet another USB cord into the end of the first.

Yeah, really. If it works it works. No need to speculate beyond that (although it is kind of fun and interesting). That's why I kept saying just try it. I've done TONS of things in my life music related and otherwise that you probably SHOULDN'T do but they ended up providing the end result I wanted. That really is all that matters.

That said I'd be vigilant in keeping a close eye and ear on the waves for minute dropouts and the like just in case. It sucks thinking you've gotten something tracked perfectly then when trying to mix you hear an imperfection and have to shift gears and do it over again.

Cheers.

Yeah I'm just glad it works and I'm excited about being able to use this setup. I actually did a full vocal recording session last night, and assembled all the takes afterwards and didn't notice a single artifact or imperfection while examining the takes. Whew! Although I agree and will be paying closing attention in the future though.
