Not sure what's going on there then. I've just tried every combination of left click action I can locking scroll/not locking scroll, setting now/not setting now etc. I've tried changing the default editor nothing behaves oddly at all.

I've tried it on groove clips/normal clips/step sequencer clips...... all working as expected. Tech support maybe?

Hmmm, so when you have "Left Click Sets Now Time" unchecked, and you double click on the header of a MIDI clip, the clips pane doesn't jump to wherever the play head is. Strange that it's happening on my system. Perhaps tech support is the best option.

Yes, I can reproduce this. I think the other contributors might not be understanding that you're starting with the situation that your Now Time is actually off-screen to the right because you have scrolled the Track view back to to see the clip that you want to open in the PRV. Is that right?

What I get in this scenario is that the PRV opens with the Now Time at the left, and the Track view jumps to the Now Time as well, such that your clip might be completely offscreen to the left in both views.

I could be wrong, but I believe the same happened in X1, and my main complaint was that the PRV does not automatically scroll to where the clip is.

Yes this is it. Although I'm sure when I was testing this yesterday, the PRV was opening in the right place. Now that I try it again, the PRV is opening where the now time is instead of where the clip is.

Less of a bug, than a design oversight, methinks. If you double click on a clip to open the PRV, of course your intention is to look at that clip in the PRV.

Enabling Left Click Sets Now does help somewhat in that at least the part of the clip that you double-click will be shown in the PRV, but the Now time will of course be moved which might not always be what you want. For example, if you're tweaking a part, and think "Let me just move that high C to a G in the last chorus section that just scrolled off-screen, and then resume playing from where I paused".

Well you never mentioned that the now time was off screen. Yes I can confirm I see that behaviour under those circumstances. It must have been the only thing I never tried to recreate it.

That's what I was trying to convey when I gave the example of the clip at measure 0 and the now time at measure 50. In hindsight I guess I should have just said "now time off screen somewhere"

I'm just dense. I thought "Wow he works well zoomed out"
