thanks for all the kind replies...

actually i had downloaded the stuff with safari on my mac , with internetexplorer on w7 and then with firefox (download manager including checksum files)

in the END the problem i had was something completely different (and thats weird):

the third download packet itself was ok all the time but the autoextractor from packet 1 just never recognized it as being part of the whole thing - so in the end i just had to extract the packages with winzip "by hand" and then it worked - again - very strange...

btw: i am a little shocked from x2 - since i switched directly from 8.5 i have to admit that i have the feeling of having no clue at all ...

so a last question(for today) arises:

i work with 2 24" full hd monitors
i tried to set the windows in a was that the arrange window is maximized on screen one - but it doesnt work.
the gui always keeps a third of the arrange window on screen 2 - thats ...erm.. "uncool" ;-)
do i miss something about the screensets
best regards

btw: i was not even able to get a sound out of the plugs - i feel like a moron :-)

Personally, I like using F11 to activate Full Screen mode when displaying the TV across two monitors  (two 24" here as well).   If it doesn't immediately span across, double-click across the very top.

Do you have full screen mode active? Try pressing F11 or selecting/deselecting it from the Window menu. I use triple monitors with the main display on two 22" monitors which works okay.

Windows etc will still float or undock but the new GUI may take a little while to get used to. Coming from 8.5, X2 may well be a bit of a learning curve overall, as you're finding out but IMHO well worth the teething pains.

hmm...well - actually i want to span the whole sonar window over both screens but i also want to scale the tv so that it is only on screen one...
in 8.5. i used to split the screens like that:
i had tv full on the left screen and the mixer view and the midinote view sharing screen 2

since every window was freely scalable...

You can still do that, try undocking one or both of them from the multidock if you don't want the PRV and CV sharing it. (Right click on the relevant tab)

Actually just re-read what you want to do, it's even simpler. Undock the multidock and drag it to the second monitor. Shift + D will maximise it to the monitor
