Definitely have to throw in my vote for UAC.  It was a bit clunky in Vista, but it's very clean in Windows 7.

Not for nothing do you get that same process in Linux and Mac OSX.

Alex you misunderstood, again. In my situation, my set up; my system, there is no evil to be deaf, blind or mute to. Everything else is covered. I have never had an issue, ever.

I'll give a fiver for everytime I've heard that... and then one day :)

Anyway good luck :).

I have UAC off, and I have nothing with any names or passwords... nor is it on the internet.

No smoke or fire, because there is no oxygen :P

Isn't UAC like the warning label on the side of a lighter?

Yes the only difference is that with UAC often the lighter can go off by itself without the use of human fingers, and if you accidently light up in a petrol tank you get the chance to rewind time before you blow up and die. So quite different really.

Rather than analogies please can someone explain WHY UAC is so important? I also have it switched off. I've to this day never had a problem, and I have no nagging pop-ups.
