I have read all the newb stuff here and watched videos. I am still lost. Here goes: I have captured tracks and can adjust trim and add FX. How do I get these tracks into a master that allows me to master it, or maybe I am saying this wrong. If I am happy with how I mixed these tracks and added compression, reverb and eq and have acceptable levels, how do I get them into a stereo master that will allow me to then use Boost 11 to master it so it is done to the point where I can burn to CD? For now I just take these tracks and I export them and then burn to cd, which leaves the cd at a dB level that is really LOW. So after reading many posts I am trying to put into place the suggestions about mastering and doing things such as having the master dB at zero and making sure that compression prevents peak levels etc., of which is all new to me, but is great to dig into. How do I use busses and what is really the best way to assign tracks. I use a Motu 8Pre and plug four mics in and go direct with the bass and it makes no sense how to use track assignments, but what I am doing works yet I don't know what I am doing. In console view (I prefer to do it there - others may disagree), insert a new Stereo Buss. this should route directly to your Main Outs/Interface

Now route all of the outputs of your tracks to the Master Buss

You can now insert plugins on your master buss and get the levels up to something approaching commercial levels, but please, don't overdo it - the more you increase the level, the more you'll decrease your dynamics in the song which eventually results in a fatiguing sound.
