I only had to do the Run As Administrator the first time and now I just click on it and it runs just fine. 

I tried running as administrator (worked) and then normally (didn't work).  Is there anything else you did while running as administrator?  For example, did you do a plugin scan?

Maybe. I honestly don't remember, but I found the answer in this forum...but it was a while ago. 

One may disable UAC on Vista, or lower the UAC level on Win7, or configure the executable to always run as administrator by default in order to facilitate software that was not designed for Vista/Win7's increased security features (SONAR may be more compatible with UAC itself, but many other plugins are not).

If your Pentagon I works, when you double-click on it in the plugins list, do you see a filename associated with it?  Or is it blank?

<<<DS864 DXi - I think this is Dreamstation? If so you are not missing much. It was a good synth in its day but with Z3ta, Rapture, Pentagon, Square etc it does not bring much to the party. You will also find quite a few free VSTi that cover similar ground.>>>
