  • Cannot get X2 serial number to work (p.3)

I put sonar X2 disc In drive and ran the disc.
Once Sonar was up and running ,I closed down after unsuccessfully trying to input the serial  and then right clicked to run as administrator.

Have I got to run the Installation as administrator ??
I put disc In and It autoran to start.
 
The other thing Is that the serial In the greyed out box In X2 Is different to the serial  In MY ACCOUNT 
Today has nearly gone by and support have not replied yet .
It probably takes them two days.

Are you saying there is a time limit on downloads in store Acct., have had mine since 11/5, but am waiting for fixes to PC. I hope not, you said here- "In advance so as I could get my HD Orchestra download down In time before It expires!", or are you meaning size keeps it from loading in time? Confused, be mad if I wasted them, by not downloading right away! Sorry, for jumping in, any reassurance would be great!
I got the Hd Orchestra because I had purchased X2 before deadline 31st October
Just tell support that your machine Is broken and I am sure they will put things right for you.

The box Is still greyed out and If I go to Regedit and then to  hkey local and ,software .X2,the serial Is there . 
I changed It to the one on My Account and It popped up In the greyed box. 


Hi - apologies if this is what you already tried . . .


  • Run Regedit
  • Find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR Producer X2 and double-click Serial Number
  • Delete the value data (leave it blank)
  • Rerun the install as Administrator
  • When asked during the install, enter the serial number from your Store Account



The install should complete, then when you run X2 for the first time it should ask for the registration code - also from your Store Account.


I had an issue installing X2 when I had a partial install of X1 hanging around, and this cleared it for me.
I hope you get it sorted soon and can start making music again!

I have tried all avenues now and no luck.
I think that because my serial number does not match In MY ACCOUNT the Reg code Is wrong.
I will have to wait for supports reply which I hope will be at the least tomorrow sometime as I really want to configure everything ,so I can re- Norton Ghost my drive.

Hi All

Thanks to everyone that tried to help me out here
I got a little fed up with waiting for a reply from support and had a brainwave!!!


I re-registered Sonar X2 and bingo,It worked

I have again Informed support and now I can say that the manager at ET Cetera In the uk Forwarded my Serial number so as I could get my Free HD Orchestra download In time before the deadline
a GREAT GESTURE OF GOODWILL .

A person In there warehouse must have sent me a different copy to the one with original serial numbers In.

NOW!! "To the Bat Cave Robin"!!!!!!! "Holy Cakewalk"!
"Which button do I press Batman"!!!
" Never mind Robin,I'll sort the X2 man out"!!!!!

Because of the mix up cakewalk think I have two copies of X2 In My Account.

Cakewalk support have still not replied to me since Sunday
maybe too busy concentrating on the Presidential Elections
