Hi,

I think I will watch "Purple Rain" tonight. It remains, for me, the best rock movie ever made, where music and story blended really well, and made the album be better and bigger and the movie stand out.

I'm saddened for the other artists and folks at Paisley Park, and the related families, because they have lost someone that brought out a lot of music and helped a lot of people. Not to mention how many women were in his band ... you would think that someone like him would want some major players ... but no ... he was never afraid of teaching and helping these folks, was he?

RIP is all I can say ... and even that feels empty right now.

This year we've seen an extinction of dinosaurs. Where did the meteorite hit?

I think this person's influence goes without saying.  I'm quite heartbroken to see him go, and at such a young age, as well. RIP.

Drug overdose. Most likely prescription opioids.

The autopsy was done today; toxicology results won't be back for maybe a couple of weeks. All they really said was no indication of trauma or suicide.

People still do die of AIDS, despite the progress that's been made.  I just wish someone would do a documentary of some kind celebrating all the great artists we've lost to the disease.  They can start with Rock Hudson.  The Broadway community was completely destroyed amongst other things.
