Hey,  the offset in the timecode works fine.  You can choose from a variety frame rates, input an offset  and the correct timecode shows up in a variety of places.  Why would you not be able to apply the same priciple to measure numbers?

Because that option doesn't exist in SONAR...

As a "musician", I think in terms of bar numbers.

A standard song is 32 bars.  (I did say "standard." as in, "The Standards" ala 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's.)

verse 1 is an 8 bar phrase.
verse 2 is an 8 bar phrase, slightly modified.
Chorus (some call this the bridge) is another 8 bars.
verse 3 is an 8 bar phrase, almost identical to V1, only this one resolves.

The chorus starts on bar 16.
I Sonar, my chorus is required to start on bar 17 or 18 or such.  OK.
No problem here.

Wait.  My song repeats 3 times.
My 2nd repeat starts on 64... no wait... 66.
Now I'm starting my 3rd chorus on bar...?  Wait a minute...OK.  80, nope 82.
ad nauseum...

My brain goes 8,8,8,8=32 ... 64... 96... 128...
because I'm thinking "the song", which is what all this is about.

I agree with you Eric. This is what I have been trying to say.

Well, that makes me think that you are viewing it as a mathematician, not a musician :) If you really can't handle that simple offset then I would suggest you listen to the song and put in markers to aid you.

Pretty much all of my songs have click-tracks with a 2 bar count in, which I need because I work with a lot of online musicians that will be using my tracks in their DAW, and vice-versa. Once we mix we simply slip edit the mastering track to take out the lead-in count, making the piece start at bar 1. I understand why some people would want this feature and yeah, I'm all for it, but just like the long debated Staff View problem I would much rather Cake focuses on more core features.
