I noticed this but IIRC if I click the bar at the top of the clip to select it first I could slip edit. Hope this helps

I'm not sure why you are seeing this and not that it helps you much but it isn't "normal".

You should be able to slip edit any clip with a fade. The top corners are the fades the rest of it slip edits but the bottom third will slip edit but not move the fade.

It's working here even on minimised clips. Is it every clip?

I am not using Track Lanes which is the only time I've ever seen a bar at the top of a clip.

Did I miss toggling a setting?

You should see a bar at the top of any clip above the threshold setting which I can't recall off the top of my head. They can be hidden though by selecting "Maximum Waveform Height" from the TV--->View-->Display menu.
.
That still doesn't affect the slip editing feature though, it just moves the hotzones for clip selection to a top bottom split a la X1 rather than the header/body split with them.

This works and is better in X2 than in previous versions - at least under my touch.

However, this is a smal but significant part of Sonar that can still be massively improved. I'd like to just grab a point on the clips and adjust it, fade or edge, rather than aiming in at a specific point that isn't that easy to find in the first place. And when fading it seems that the slip edit zone is decreased by a lot!

But it seems to be better in X2 so that's a step in the right direction at least

This thread was started when I was comping another album and noticed the behaviour on tracks that I had used the split tool, and then could not slip edit if there were a fade at the split.  I had to remove the fade and then slip edit and reapply the fade.  It did not matter where the cursor was located on the clip as it would not change from the fade tool.

I have noticed the above behavior even on whole tracks.
It is really an annoyance as it is making more work out of a simple edit.

It does not happen on every clip.
It appears to mostly happen where there is little to no gap between clips.  For instance at a split, at the beginning of a track, and sometimes happens at the end of a track.

O.K. There is a setting that turns this feature on/off.

To globally hide the clip headers, click the Track view View menu, point to Display, and select Maximize Waveform Height. When this options is enabled, the waveform display spans the full height of clips.

I mentioned that in post #14 but it doesn't affect the slip edit points only the hotzones for track selection.

Sorry Karl,
I missed that post... It was posted at the time I was replying to your other post.

That's okay, it's not compulsory reading.

Just wanted you to be aware that the setting should have no affect on the fade/slip points, or doesn't here anyway....
