I recently used window 8 and Im indifferent on how I feel. The Metro side can be cool if I wanted to surf the net and do social media crap, But booting into metro on my desktop that I only use as a DAW not connected to the internet is something that can be totally useless, and a waste of time. So I found this http://www.stardock.com/products/start8/ and it looks like I will be upgrading to windows 8 very soon,

I do have some more concerns upgrading which I have to do some more research about. Like Im running windows 7 and I see I can just do and upgrade, and not have to reinstall my programs and settings which seems like a painless process. But
System requirements are 20 gigs free hard drive space needed , doing the upgrade dose windows 8 free up the space and erase windows 7 ? anyhow though I'ed share that link..

Thanks for sharing. Figured someone would come to their senses and develop a product like this. It's amazing how Microsoft didn't allow the disabling of Metro UI and allow Windows 7 compatibility mode. I'm a little irritated that I have to buy another piece of software. Been a Microsoft Partner and SE for many years and this is by the worst (Wait, I forgot Vista!) :).

Just get Start Button and it will put your Start button back where it belongs and you can boot right to the desktop and all will be right with the world. And its free.

This is great!  It seems like Microsoft tries a new gimmick every-other operating system release.  For $4.99, not a bad idea!
