  • So, will many of us actually use that Loopmasters stuff?

It's probably just me, and is down to the fact that I rarely use loops and samples unless I've made them myself (again, a rare thing really).

I've been quickly previewing some of the one shot samples and I can't get my head round why we would use some of the synth hits. I'd rather use a synth than someone else's sample of one.

I was hoping for more sort of say vocal stabs or movie samples. But that perhaps down to my inexperience of using others loops and samples.

I am still grateful to Cakewalk for gifting us something like this, but I hope that the Cakewalk Content Club gives out more than just samples and loops. In fact I think I'd rather have a load of tricks and tips type manuals and videos than this kind of stuff.

Just me though... I'm sure there are loops and sample users aplenty who love this stuff :-)

There's a song in the song forum by tbosco entirely made from this package of loops and samples.  Here is the link: http://soundcloud.com/tbosco/the-x2-additional-content-song .  Maybe this will give you and idea of how they can be helpful.

Thanks Lynn, I'll check that out later :-)

Hey Lynn... Thanks for the plug...lol...  That song was made from the loops content that comes with X2, not the new free package unfortunately.  However, I've listened to a lot of the new stuff, and there is a lot of useful stuff in there, similar to my song.

There's many ways to use the loops and one-shots.... just be creative.  :-)

synkrotron-  I hope the free content is varied also... but, can't complain about free stuff I guess.

Absolutely. And I hope it wasn't coming across as a complaint as such. Just stating my position re loops and samples really :-)

I've not had a listen to your tune yet, but will do soon...

Hi all, loops can add a movement to finish the right groove. It shouldn't be the main part for me but depends on the kind of music.Best.Roby

I've just finished listening to your eight minute track Tony. A lot going on there, and all samples? Okay, in the right hands you can obviously do a lot with loops. Just not in my hands I'm afraid.

I think if I use any of those samples/loops it'll be just a few at a time rather than a complete tune... I'll keep browsing and see what inspires me.

I guess for me, it's the genre of the loops.  Useful, but not to me.  I have a fairly robust collection of loops, especially drum loops, that I have acquired over the years along with other loops such as piano, steel guitar, electric and acoustic guitar samples, etc., and I don't see me using these.  So, while the content is great if you are into techno, trance, dubstep, etc., for me, anyway, it is considerably less useful.  Let me reiterate, I am very grateful for Cakewalk offering this and it will be incorporated into my library in the manner of the BORG, I just hoped that it might have been a bit more "mainstream" or "conventional".  I already have a quite large quantity of this material from disks that come with mags such as Computer Music.  I don't want to discourage Cakewalk from offering loops, I just wished, personally, that they were more useful TO ME, something like some polka or Irish dirge loops, LOL!  And, let's face it, the price is right!
