I just visited an EDM production forum and one of the posts was titled:

"Can you phase out a hardstyle kick the same way you can phase out a big room kick to make a trap bootleg, or is there just too much high end distortion on a hardstyle kick?"

Can anyone shed any light on this gibberish?

For all the old folks pretending to be superior, I suspect it's asking something like, "Can you EQ a Strat to make it sound like a Les Paul?", only with kick drum sounds.

99.9% of the terms posted on this forum made about as much sense to me when I first showed up. Now I can follow along with most convos.

Well... the exception being the Coffee House. Then the ratio of perceived whargarble jumps right back up to 99.9%.

More so even.

It's glorious.
