Scott - I don't know if this is a setting I need to learn or whether this is a bug.

About 50% of the time, my Snap settings in the PRV look like this:

The other 50% of the time I don't get the box on the left displaying the snap time - I just get the grid on the right

Any idea?

Hi soens,
that's a good tip. Will try it, thanks.

I know I'm not Scott but my name does start with an "S" so I feel safe to answer...

Just click the grid box you see and the rest will pop out for you.
Click it again and they disappear.

They will turn faded blue if the Control Bar Snap is OFF.

Would be better maybe if they were there all the time. I'm not sure why you'd want to hide them anyway.

Surprisingly I've not had any issues with snap in X2. It's been working as expected so far.

Jonesey, clicking the grid on the right causes the other options to appear

I suspect there's a bit of an intermittent bug going on with the snap grid in the PRV. I've seen numerous mentions that it doesn't work unless the PRV snap is on.

It most definitely should work with the PRV snap off, the PRV snap is an additional snap that as Scott pointed out needs the global snap to be on to work. It's an over ride setting not an independent one.

I can't say I've seen it though. It snaps to the ruler okay here on the global snap alone.

Well this is odd.

I've definitely clicked on the grid before, but it just switches the grid on/off. The only way to change the Snap Settings is by right clicking the grid.

This happens irrespective of whether Global Snap is on or off.

But it's not consistent.

That's definitely weird. When you click the grid, those other controls should reveal themselves by sliding out. And they should stay that way until you click the grid again.

In my case, click the grid, the menu slides out to the left, after about 4 seconds of no activity, the menu is removed.

It seems the PRV snaps are an "override" as mentioned, so you can have a different snap-to setting there. But this is only when global snap is ON. If global snap is OFF then all snaps are OFF, thus the term "global".

Really? Well, there's another SONAR quirk then. I just tried it and mine stays visible until I click the grid again. Very weird.
