Nice job, Craig!

Anxious to get X2 installed so I can try all the new goodies.

I hear you about TV. Don't have it; don't want it. Too many more important things to do.

Craig-  This may be a really dumb question.... but you mention PC "PEAK LIGHT"..... where is that?  ( I see a light that slowly comes and goes in my channel strip, but I thought that was the saturation module working indicator.

Y'all don't laugh too hard now....

@#2:
I don't think need to put them first in the chain, I think it's more first in the process, so you are making your mix decisions with the emulation ON. Makes sense, you don't add a console at the end of your mix process, it's already there when you start.

Yes, we DO take requests

I did a quick video with an excerpt of "When the Grid Goes Down" highlighting an A/B comparison with and without the Console Emulator plug-in.

The difference is subtle, but if you can hear the audio over a decent system, sometimes when it switches between the two options the difference is REALLY obvious.

I'd be interested in your take on the comparison...

If people didn't have questions, I'd be out of a job

The best way to see what's going on is to open the Pro Channel. Each module has a little "LED" to the immediate left of the power on/off button. You want to make sure these don't glow red.

How many console emulators where on the tracks? On all channels, or only on the groups? Or only on the master?

Cheers for the A/B comparison, great job on the song by the way, sounds great! The effect is subtle I have found when using it myself, so trying to hear the effect on youtube after the video has been compressed makes it even more subtle, but I recommend people use it, like you say mix with them on but turned off because they do effect latency then A/B them every now and then. Again, great job man!

@ bluffinmad  - Not sure I understand "Mix with them on, but turned off."  Could you explain?

I think the idea is that you mix through them rather than put them on after mixing.  I think this is what Craig is suggesting.  Perhaps he could clarify.  Not sure how latency will affect mixing, either.

Please explain.

The effect is remarkable! It's tiny but so present! Good A/B-ing

FWIW I always swith it on first. I even leave it on when designing sounds or while tracking or whatever. It's on by default, nothing else is.

I had a play with the NLS a while back and that sounded to me like it added quite a lot of effect to the sound when cranked up. I may be wrong tho. But I don't want to hear the console, just feel it!

I'm hearing a teeny-weeny-weeny bit of extra brightness and clarity with the emulation on.  Is that what everyone else is hearing?  My hearing is duff from playing in loud bands and I'm also getting old....  so I can't hear above 7khz in hearing tests.
